OBJECTIVES OF THIS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COURSE

  • To understand the role that vision, values and Leadership Styles play in influencing the culture of an organization

  • To differentiate between Leadership and Management

  • To recognize the purpose, value and benefits of Mission Statements and how they influence the vision and values of an organization, which in turn affect performance and the culture of the organization

  • To display a critical awareness and understanding of how our values underpin our beliefs and attitude, which in turn influences our choices, decisions, behaviours and goals as a Leader.

  • To determine if your personal and professional values are aligned with your organization’s values

  • To discuss the components that create the culture of an organization

  • To explore Goleman’s 6 Leadership Styles and to determine which styles have a positive effect upon the culture of an organization

  • To Role Play each style and to create a Presentation which illustrates the underlying competencies in each of the Leadership Styles, when it would be helpful to use each style and the potential drawbacks of each style.

  • To determine what you need to do to expand your repertoire of Leadership Styles and to improve the Culture at Work.
